Microsoft Dynamics 365 Wave 1 2025 Updates
So what can you expect with the new features that are being added to Microsoft Dynamics 365? Let’s delve deeper into the new functionalities that are being launched, which thrived on AI capabilities like Copilot as well as other efficiency tools to simplify and optimize your daily tasks.
Before we continue, it is important to note that AI is at the heart of this new wave 2025 of Microsoft, being integrated as an active tool in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform, rather than being an option. So, without further ado, let’s discover the new exciting changes that Microsoft is bringing.
Sales qualification assistant
First, we would like to touch upon Microsoft Dynamics Sales module, with the new addition of a Sales Qualification Assistant which is being added to the sales pipeline. Expected to launch in July of 2025, this new feature serves to simplify your sales process and optimize your sales activities.
What is the sales qualification assistant?
The sales qualification assistant is an AI-powered tool within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales module that helps you optimize your lead qualification process. It works by researching and analyzing data from both your internal CRM systems as well as public web sources to assist your sales team in identifying and prioritizing leads with the highest potential to convert. This means that it can tell you what the potential of a prospect is being a qualified client, a summary about the person and so much more to provide you with a rounded view about the potential client.
What’s even better about the sales qualification assistant is it can tell you what the next step is you need to take for each prospect in your sales pipeline. Whether it is sending an email, booking a prospect for a meeting or engaging with a potential client, the sales qualification assistant helps you identify which step you need to take next to ensure that your prospect becomes a client.
Note: The sales qualification assistant is not going to perform a specific task like sending an email for you. It is mostly going to be there to assist you in your sales pipeline by providing suggestions on next action steps you can take. It is Copilot that will be able to handle the completion of specific tasks like booking meetings or sending emails on your behalf.
Power Apps Natural Language Search
Available as from the start of April, this new feature will greatly simplify your use of the Power Apps platform. As part of the Microsoft ecosystem, Power Apps is widely appreciated for its low-code usage and speed at which can create new apps.
What is the Power Apps natural language search?
The Power App’s natural language search is an AI-powered functionality by Copilot that allows users to interact with their data using everyday language. This greatly simplifies tasks such as filtering, sorting and searching. Moreover, you no longer need to rely on complex formulas or technical knowledge to move around in the Power Apps platform.
What does this mean for you? It means that you now have the power to navigate the Power Apps platform and use it to view what you want, quickly and simply. For instance, thanks to the natural language search, Power Apps can now allow users to generate charts automatically based on the data in their views, streamlining data visualization.
How to use the Power Apps natural language search?
It is easy to use the new feature of Power Apps. You can go to the Sales Hub platform of Dynamics 365. From there, you will see a small chat box at the top where you can type in your queries.
When it comes to the query, you can truly ask anything that you want since it uses natural language to search for your requests. For instance, you can ask for all accounts that are in a specific location or all accounts that have been created within a specific time frame and more. This is helpful for creating lists and segments that you can use for your marketing activities.
Note: It is important to note that the results of your requests will highly depend on your existing lists and filters. Hence, you cannot ask for something that is completely new or that has not been created in a specific column in the database. The Power Apps natural language search will focus only on existing data that you already have in the Dynamics 365 platform.
What's your CRM usage level?
Discover where your company is situated when it comes to your CRM use and strategies to move to the next level.
Generating charts with Copilot
Another feature that is subtle but greatly efficient is the ability to generate charts quicker thanks to Copilot. When you log into your Dynamics 365 account, you will be able to see the small Copilot icon with the “Visualize” option on the top right of the screen.
When you click on it, Copilot will automatically generate the chart based on the data that you are on. Meaning that if you were looking at your opportunities, Copilot will generate a chart that shows you information based on your opportunities. Likewise, if you were looking at your leads, then Copilot will show you a chart about your leads. PS: it comes out start of April, so keep an eye out for it.
Note: You can customize the chart generated by asking Copilot to make it a bar chart, pie chart and more. You can also ask it to base itself on specific data that you want to see.
Smart Paste Feature
The next new feature of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 first wave of 2025 is the smart paste feature. This will help save you time in filling in new information into the platform and allow you to focus on other tasks.
What is the smart paste feature in Dynamics 365?
The smart paste feature in Dynamics 365 allows users to automatically fill forms about prospects or clients with information from emails or documents, saving time on data entry.
How to use the smart paste feature in Dynamics 365?
Let’s take an example. You receive an email about a potential client asking you information about your services. You want to input the new details into the Dynamics 365 platform.
All you must do is copy the entire email and then go to your Dynamics 365 platform. Click on “Create New” to create a new entry. Instead of you now hopping around the email and the Dynamics 365 platform to find and input information, what you simply need to do is paste the information directly into the form. Right click on your mouse and choose the “Paste” option.
What will that do? Copilot will analyze the information and automatically fill in the fields of the new form such as name, business, location and so on. This saves you time and allows you to move onto tasks quicker.
You can also import a document into the Dynamics 365 platform when creating a new entry and allow Copilot to read the document so it can automatically fill in the information.
Note: It is important for you to always check the information that Copilot inputs into the Dynamics 365 platform to ensure that everything is correct.
Customer Service Workspace
Another exciting new feature coming soon is in the Dynamics 365 Customer Service module that encompasses the Contact Center and the Customer Service Workspace. Some things to take into consideration is the fact that Contact Center is the new name that has replaced omnichannel.
Better navigation within cases
The most prevalent update for this platform is its increased ease of navigation. Now, when an agent is on a specific case, the latter can select and open other pertaining information related to the case like company details, customer details, etc., without leaving or closing the initial case platform. This allows customer service agents to easily navigate within the Dynamics 365 platform and have all information at the tips of their fingers.
Power Automate
The last thing we will cover is Power Automate. This is a powerful tool that helps establish automate tasks via workflows. With the new Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM first wave 2025 updates, you can expect some great features that will be added to this platform for more efficiency.
Creating a new workflow
It is now easy to set up a new workflow using natural language. How does this work? You simply need to log in you Power Automate account and choose the option of “Describe to create”. You will then have access to a message box where you can describe what you want the automation to be.
Whether you want to receive an automatic email every time a new file is shared on SharePoint or receive an email when someone fills in a form on your website – you can easily describe what you want your new workflow to accomplish.
Once you have described what you want the workflow to do – it will create the structure for you. This allows you to still have some level of control over how the workflow functions. The great thing is it also gives you options for the workflow – so you can choose which one works best for you.
After you have selected your option, you will still be able to personalize the workflow thanks to Copilot. You can chat with the AI-powered solution on the chat box on the right of the screen and ask it to add, remove or change something in the workflow.
